Chambers and Partners (Orbach and Chambers Ltd.) provides this statement in response to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We recognise that we have a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking.
Chambers and Partners employs over 430 employees within the UK and USA. Our organisation is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
Services and Supply Chains
Chambers and Partners is the worlds leading provider of legal research and analysis.
Chambers and Partners considers its services and supply chains to be low risk of slavery or human trafficking.
Chambers and Partners will never knowingly accept any products or services from suppliers who exploit the people or natural resources of their environment. To this end, if the organisation becomes aware of any concerns with one of our suppliers we will investigate and determine whether these concerns are justified and take the appropriate action to address the issues. This could involve working with the supplier to agree an action plan to address the issues, delisting the supplier, and/or sourcing products or services from an alternative supplier, all dependent on the nature and severity of the concerns.
Chambers and Partners organisational structure includes the Board, Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team. The majority of our employees are based within our London office. Fewer than 20 employees are based in New York, and fewer than 20 employees work remotely within the UK. Our organisation consists of the following functions: Research, Commercial, Central Departments and Technology. Within our Technology function, Chambers and Partners engages European Union (EU)-based workers employed by third-party agencies.
Chambers and Partners is an accredited London Living Wage employer. All our employees and third-party workers are paid above the London Living Wage and this is reviewed on an annual basis. Additionally, our organisation is proud to be an accredited Disability Confident Employer and a Halo Workplace.
Eligibility and Right to Work Checks
All Chambers and Partners employees are subject to a right to work check in line with the provisions of the UK and USA legislation. Recruitment processes include the monitoring of right to work documentation all new employees are required to show correct right to work documentation on their first day of employment. Regular visa checks are conducted on a monthly basis.

We encourage all our employees, workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, our organisation. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking. Our whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures, without fear of retaliation.
Employee Code of Conduct
Our code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing our organisation. We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating abroad and managing its supply chain.
Ethical and Conflict of Interest Standards
This policy provides advice to employees on conflicts of interest, the process for employees to report any concerns and any required guidance and training on ethical subjects.

Chambers and Partners monitors the ongoing wellbeing of its employees through line management relationships, providing company-wide mental health training, providing medical cover, employing mental health first aiders and providing free access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
